This museum has an incredible collection of art and artifacts. The story of the steamboat era and the wars fought in Southeast Texas is presented beautifully. I particularly loved the gallery dedicated to the Boy Scouts!

While I appreciate the effort to honor local heroes with various artworks, the facilities were somewhat lacking and the museum was unfortunately closed when I visited. I'm hopeful it will be back up and running soon!
